The municipality has a cultural and art group "Dalmacija" that gather young people from the municipality and foster cultural and folklore traditions of this region. Both of these societies have had notable results in the country and abroad.
The "DALMACIJA" Cultural and Art Society from Dugi Rat has a thirty year-old tradition and its members make it one of the largest societies in Dalmatia.
The Society was founded in 1967 and since then has been gathering young people wishing to preserve the Croatian cultural folk tradition, particularly in Dalmatia.
The "Dalmacija" Cultural and Art Society has several sections:
- Folklore Section - Music Section - Rhythm Section - Section of Dalmatian Folk Singing - Art Section
The Folklore Section whose repertoire consists of dances and songs from entire Croatia stands out by its importance.
In successful tourist seasons, the Society performed along the Central Dalmatian coast, achieving equally notable results at international festivals in Portugal, England, Greece, France, etc.
The Folklore Group possesses its own national costumes of significant ethnographic and art quality. This group is supported by eminent Croatian ethnologists, music theoreticsand choreographers.
At various regional, national and international festivals, this Society won a number of awards, and its many invitations to participate at such events prove its quality.
Notable efforts are made within the action "Bringing Croatia Closer" with the aim of bringing young oeople from various parts of the country closer together as well as preserving folk traditions of these areas.
Also, in the municipality of Dugi Rat there are ten various sports clubs that gather a lot of young people.
